A recent report by The New York Post has revealed that Tyler Clark, Nikki Haley’s top campaign aide, is currently under investigation for his involvement with dark money lobbyists who donated millions of dollars to Joe Biden and the Democratic Party during the 2020 election. This revelation has sparked outrage among Haley’s Republican rivals.
According to Washington Examiner, Tyler Clark, who currently serves as Haley’s New Hampshire state director, previously worked for Sixteen Thirty Fund, a non-profit organization that operates as part of a mysterious dark money network managed by Arabella Advisors. This network raises substantial funds from left-leaning billionaires such as George Soros, Hansjörg Wyss, Bill Gates, and Pierre Omidyar.
The Post’s report reveals that Sixteen Thirty Fund provided a staggering $410 million in dark funding to the Democratic Party during the last election cycle.
Ron DeSantis’ campaign wasted no time in criticizing Haley, claiming that her campaign is not only financially supported but also operated by the Democratic Party. This disclosure has further fueled the ongoing rivalry between Haley and her Republican competitors.
In addition to providing financial support to Democratic candidates, Sixteen Thirty Fund played a crucial role in launching the pressure group “Demand Justice.” This group spent $5 million in 2018 to oppose the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh as a Supreme Court Justice. In 2021, “Demand Justice” conducted an aggressive ad campaign in support of the retirement of Justice Stephen Breyer. Ultimately, Breyer retired in 2022, and President Biden appointed Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.
Prior to joining Haley’s campaign, Tyler Clark worked as a public and government affairs consultant at Preti Strategies, a lobbying firm based in Boston. During his time there, he engaged in lobbying activities for various left-leaning organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union and the American Federation of Teachers.
Haley has faced criticism from her Republican competitors for her efforts to appeal to moderate left-leaning voters and receiving funding from prominent Democratic donors. These criticisms have intensified following the revelation of Clark’s involvement with dark money groups.
Despite the controversy, Nikki Haley has continued her campaign activities, including hosting an event at the Kin’s Country Club in New Hampshire ahead of the upcoming Republican primary.
Despite inquiries about Tyler Clark’s previous lobbying career, the spokesperson for Haley’s campaign has not provided any response or explanation.
