The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has selected 10 outstanding cases of proactive administration, including the “Everyone’s Art Theater,” for their efforts in protecting the rights of people with disabilities and creators. These exemplary cases have been recognized for their contributions to promoting inclusivity and innovation in the cultural and artistic sector.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has announced the selection of 10 exemplary cases of proactive administration, highlighting their commitment to protecting individual rights while promoting cultural and artistic activities. These cases, including the renowned “Everyone’s Art Theater,” will be honored in 2023, along with 21 outstanding employees.
Outstanding employees who have demonstrated dedication and excellence in policy implementation will be commended by the ministry. They will receive commendations from the minister, the highest level of performance bonuses, and promotion incentives as a token of appreciation for their contributions.
The selection process for identifying exemplary cases involved two stages of evaluation. In the first stage, a monitoring team consisting of citizens and an evaluation team from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism assessed a total of 37 candidate cases. The second stage involved the final evaluation by the Proactive Administration Committee.
The “Everyone’s Art Theater” stands out as the first standard performance venue for disabled artists in South Korea. It was established to meet the increasing demand for cultural and artistic activities among people with disabilities and to provide equal opportunities for participation to both disabled and non-disabled individuals.
Everyone’s Art Theater aims to ensure the highest level of accessibility in terms of space, facilities, and services. By providing an inclusive environment, it enables individuals to engage in cultural and artistic activities without any limitations, irrespective of their abilities.
In addition to Everyone’s Art Theater, there are several other commendable initiatives. One such example is the creation of the “Korean Sign Language Emblem” service, which promotes the spread of sign language interpretation culture for the hearing-impaired. This service utilizes QR codes to provide sign language videos, facilitating easy access to exhibition and performance information at museums and art galleries for the hearing-impaired.
Other notable cases include the establishment of a system to combat illegal distribution of K-content, stabilization of online music streaming service prices following the mandatory implementation of Google in-app purchases, and the “Good Price Campaign” aimed at resolving issues related to excessive fees for local festivals.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism’s commendation for outstanding cases reflects the government’s commitment to promoting good governance and improving public services. By recognizing and promoting these exemplary cases, the ministry aims to encourage similar initiatives, foster innovation, efficiency, and a culture of responsibility in the public sector.
The commendation for outstanding cases and employees by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism serves as a benchmark for other organizations and institutions to learn from successful strategies and replicate them. It also emphasizes the importance of transparency, public participation, and ethical reporting in the evaluation process.
Overall, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism’s recognition of exemplary cases and outstanding employees showcases their dedication to promoting inclusivity, protecting individual rights, and fostering a culture of responsibility and innovation in the cultural and artistic sector.
