Commendation for Bishkek Sejong Institute
The Bishkek Sejong Institute has received commendation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism for its outstanding performance. Since its designation in 2013, the institute has witnessed a remarkable increase of over 2000% in the number of students. It has played a significant role in promoting the Korean language and culture through collaborations with various institutions.
The selected Sejong Institutes will receive additional support in the form of operational funding and priority selection for specialized support programs. They will also have the opportunity to take on leadership roles in guiding other Sejong Institutes.
The evaluation of the 2023 Sejong Institute operation involved a comprehensive assessment of 140 institutes throughout 2022. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with the Sejong Institute Foundation, conducted written and on-site assessments, appeals, and committee evaluations to evaluate the institutes’ performance. The selected outstanding Sejong Institutes were chosen through a rigorous review process.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism emphasizes the importance of evaluation and exchange for the continuous growth and development of Sejong Institutes as leading institutions in promoting the Korean language overseas. It also encourages Sejong Institutes worldwide to actively contribute to the global spread of Hallyu and the Korean language based on successful operational cases.
