The public hearing, titled “Operation and Sustainability of the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale,” will be held on the 30th at the multipurpose hall on the 3rd floor of the Artists’ House in Daehak-ro, Seoul.
The purpose of the public hearing is to gather opinions from domestic and international experts and to redefine the role of the Korean Cultural Arts Council. The discussions will focus on the sustainable operation of the Korean Pavilion, which has been showcasing Korean art and architecture to the world since its establishment in 1995.

This public hearing follows a special dialogue held in October with Franco Mancuso, one of the co-designers of the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
The public hearing will feature panelists including Im Geun-hye, the director of ARKO Art Center, Kim A-young, a writer, Lee Ji-hoe, a research fellow at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Lee Chi-hoon, co-representative of the SOA Architecture Office, Choi Chun-woong, a research fellow at the ARKO Art Documentation Center, and Choi Chun-woong, a professor at Seoul National University’s Department of Architecture.
The public hearing will be livestreamed on the Korean Cultural Arts Council’s YouTube channel, allowing wider access to the discussions. Pre-registration is required for those who wish to attend the on-site hearing.
This public hearing is expected to contribute to the strategic planning for the future operation of the Korean Pavilion. By gathering in-depth opinions from experts, the Korean Cultural Arts Council aims to redefine its role and ensure the sustainable operation of the Korean Pavilion.
The 30th anniversary of the Korean Pavilion’s operation in 2025 will be commemorated through various projects initiated by the Korean Cultural Arts Council. The public hearing serves as an important platform for discussions and insights into the future of Korean culture.
