The spectacular ‘루치아’ circus performance, featuring water cascading like a grand waterfall, is returning to South Korea after a year. This performance, debuting for the first time in Korea, combines the Spanish words for ‘light’ and ‘rain’ to create the name ‘루치아’. It is the first circus production to incorporate water.
The ‘루치아’ performance is based on Mexico’s nature, culture, and mythology. The stage is adorned with elements such as the scorching sun, cacti, animals, insects, flowers, trees, and more, inviting the audience into the realm of Mexico’s imagination. The setting transitions from the sea to the desert, jungle, city alleyways, and dance salons, traversing between the past and present.
The ‘루치아’ performance captivates the audience with the refreshing sensation of water, as if standing in front of a majestic waterfall. Water pours down from suspended bridges, while birds, deer, fish, flowers, and hearts beautifully depict nature and patterns. The water-based acrobatics feature various scenes, including exhilarating aerial swings (trapeze) and elegant acrobatic displays, evoking a sense of freedom.
The ‘루치아’ performance will be held at Jamsil Sports Complex until December 31st. It will then move to Busan in January for further shows. The production utilizes 10,000 liters of water, which is recycled, filtered, and disinfected to maintain a consistent temperature throughout the performances.
Taking the audience on a visual delight and providing a refreshing experience akin to a waterfall, the ‘루치아’ circus performance returns to South Korea, offering a chance to immerse in Mexico’s nature and culture. This captivating show invites spectators into the realm of Mexico’s imagination and provides a visually stunning and invigorating experience.
