Seoul’s Ttukseom Hangang Park is set to transform into a captivating runway showcasing attractive K-fashion and sustainable designs. On the 30th of the month at 7 PM, the park will host the second series of the “Seoul Fashion Road 2024,” starting with the “Ttukseom-Botanic Fashion Show.” Against the backdrop of the serene Han River and lush gardens, this fashion show aims to present a diverse runway, highlighting the importance of sustainable fashion.
The fashion show revolves around the theme of “sustainable fashion” and features the participation of three designer brands dedicated to creating eco-friendly and ethical fashion for future generations. The participating brands include BESFXXK, VEGANTIGER, and HOLYNUMBER7. Each brand brings a unique approach to sustainable fashion, and a total of 90 models are scheduled to grace the runway.
Under the leadership of designers Kim Bona and Im Jaehyuk, BESFXXK focuses on designs that allow for versatile styling, ensuring that garments can be worn for an extended period without losing their appeal. The brand recognizes the significance of sustainable fashion and aims to provide consumers with products that enable long-term use.
VEGANTIGER, led by designer Yang Yoon-ah, utilizes environmentally friendly materials such as recycled PET bottles, discarded fishing nets transformed into fibers, plant-based leather (vegan leather), and organic cotton. These innovative approaches contribute to enhancing the sustainability of the fashion industry.
HOLYNUMBER7, designed by Choi Kyung-ho and Song Hyun-hee, emphasizes zero waste by deconstructing discarded wedding dresses and repurposing them into dance costumes. The brand highlights the importance of fashion recycling and sustainability, offering consumers a new perspective on value.
Citizens interested in attending the fashion show can apply from the 14th to the 18th of the month through the official Instagram account of Seoul Fashion Week. The seating will be assigned through a random draw, with 300 lucky individuals selected. This ensures fairness and accessibility for all attendees.
Goh Kyung-in, the head of Seoul’s Beauty and Fashion Industry, expressed the city’s hopes for the event, stating, “Through this runway, which combines the beautiful acts of gardening and fashion, I hope that everyday life becomes more special and beautiful.” This reflects the intention to provide Seoul citizens with a new experience through the harmony of fashion and nature.
The “Seoul Fashion Road 2024” event will further enhance the allure of K-fashion and promote a consumer culture that values environmental sustainability. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Ttukseom Hangang Park, this fashion show will enrich Seoul’s cultural landscape. The convergence of fashion and nature promises an extraordinary event that warrants significant interest and participation.
