Kim Subok, a renowned poet, has been appointed as the 45th President of the Korean Poets Association. His term will begin on April 1st and last for two years. The official inauguration ceremony will take place during the regular general meeting of the association at the Press Center on March 27th.
Kim Subok, born in Hamyang, Gyeongnam, made his literary debut in 1975 when he received the “Korean Literature” Rookie Award. He has published poetry collections such as “Songs of Jirisan” and “Praying Trees,” and has been honored with various awards, including the Bu Yeon Literary Award, the Full Blossom Literary Award, and the Korean Poets Association Award. Additionally, he has served as the 18th President of Dankook University.
In addition to Kim Subok’s appointment as the President, the association has also selected Lee Jeong-wan, the author of the poetry collection “Becoming a Bridge in a Harsh World,” as the recipient of the 56th Korean Poets Association Award. Furthermore, Kim San, the author of the poetry collection “Vitality,” has been chosen as the recipient of the 20th Young Poet Award.
