The South Korea Tourism Organization has announced the recruitment of the “Travel Leader” and “Danim” journalist teams to cover and promote domestic travel destinations. The teams aim to provide a fresh perspective on tourism in South Korea.
The “Travel Leader” team, consisting of university students, will undertake the role of reporting on and introducing domestic tourist attractions. They will form regional teams to uncover hidden gems and produce short-form videos along with photography.
The South Korea Tourism Organization is accepting applications for the “Travel Leader” team until February 22nd. The team will be divided into general journalists and video journalists, with a total of 32 members being selected. Once selected, the team members will undergo specialized training on photography and article writing after the inauguration ceremony in March. From April to November, they will embark on reporting trips across the country, spanning approximately 8 months.
The “Danim” team is open to all individuals who have an interest in travel. This team will focus on creating and spreading travel content using drones, activities, and landscape photography.
The application period for the “Danim” team is from February 1st to February 28th. A total of 10 members will be selected based on their ability to create travel content using drones, activities, and landscape photography.
Last year, the “Travel Leader” and “Danim” teams generated over 1,100 domestic travel content pieces. Approximately 534 of these were shared through various social media channels, including the “Korea’s Hidden Gems” blog and Instagram, accumulating around 80 million views.
Lee Ga-young, the head of domestic digital marketing at the South Korea Tourism Organization, expressed the organization’s aim to provide diverse travel content, increase interest in domestic travel, and offer team members the opportunity to grow as future leaders in regional tourism. The organization encourages individuals with a fresh perspective on travel to show their support and apply for the teams.
