According to recent analysis conducted by the Geumsansa Hwaeomsa Temple Promotion Planning Committee, Gwangju BBS Buddhist Broadcasting, and Dongguk University Buddhist Social and Cultural Research Institute, the economic value of Geumsansa Hwaeomsa Temple has exceeded 8.2 billion won. This figure is higher than the 3.7 billion won in 2021 and the 4.61 billion won projected for 2022.
The analysis focused on the media exposure effects of the keywords and images associated with “Geumsansa Dialogue Harmony Hwaeomsa Temple.” The total economic value was estimated to be 8.26 billion won.
Several events have contributed to the economic value of the temple. The plum blossom photo contest alone generated 2.345 billion won, while the yoga competition held to commemorate World Yoga Day contributed 1.123 billion won. The mosquito net film concert added another 1.1925 billion won to the temple’s economic value. Additionally, the cultural heritage value of the temple reached 770 million won.
