South Korean Science Fiction Writers Association Forms New Representative Team

The South Korean Science Fiction Writers Association has announced the formation of its fourth representative team, led by writer Choi Eui-taek. The team’s term will last for two years, until 2025.

Choi Eui-taek, known for works such as the novel “Schrodinger’s Children,” the short story collection “Non-Human,” and the essay “Perhaps the Most Ordinary Human,” has been appointed as the representative of the fourth team of the South Korean Science Fiction Writers Association.

The team also includes writer Dana as the vice representative and writer Hwang Mo-gwa as the office director.

Choi Eui-taek, who has received prestigious awards such as the 1st Moon Yoon-sung SF Literature Award and the Korean SF Award for Best Novel, expressed their commitment to protecting the rights of SF writers and emphasizing solidarity with marginalized groups such as people with disabilities, those from rural areas, and immigrants.

The South Korean Science Fiction Writers Association, established in 2017, aims to guarantee the freedom and rights of SF writers, support their activities, and nurture new talents in the field.
