In the spirit of the new year, bookstores and reading platforms have organized various book reading challenge events. The reading platform, Willa, has announced a special promotion for users who want to achieve their reading goals. Until the 24th of this month, both new and existing Willa members can participate in the project and receive prizes and benefits.
New members are eligible for early bird benefits, which allow them to prepare for three months of reading in advance. During the event period, they will receive two weeks of free access and a coupon for a 30% discount for three months. However, these benefits only apply to members who sign up through the event page link.
Members participating in the reading challenge can choose from six different reading missions based on their reading preferences and quantity. Successful participants will be entered into a draw to win travel vouchers and headsets as prizes. In the reading pledge comment event, members who write their reading pledges in the comment section will have a chance to be selected for a Willa diary package (diary, pen, and a random book) through a draw after the event ends.
Yes24 is conducting the “Creme Club New Year Reading Challenge” event for the whole month of January. New members will receive a 1,000 won YES voucher through the “Start and Try” event. In the “Wishing You Luck” event, 50 participants will receive prizes by selecting a self-improvement book that reflects their New Year’s resolutions and leaving a message to themselves.
Yes24 recommends books suitable for the new year through the “Let’s Read” section. Under categories such as “Time Management Tips for New Year’s Resolutions” and “Inspiring Writings for a Fresh Start,” readers can find a variety of books to support their aspirations and help them put their plans into action at the Creme Club.
Kyobo Bookstore has planned various offline events to welcome the new year. Starting with an autograph session by author Park Ju-ho for “My First Hong Kong Trip” on the 6th, there will be signings by authors such as Moon Sang-hoon and Seol Min-seok at the Kyobo Bookstore Gwanghwamun branch. Lecture events featuring authors Lee Seung-hee, author of “The Inquisitive Mind,” and Oh Yoo-kyung, author of “Adult Practice,” are also scheduled for this month.
Kyobo Bookstore stated, “We have planned various author signings and lecture events from different fields to allow customers to start the year with diverse cultural experiences.”
