The Seoul City Ballet, preparing for its inaugural season, has announced the selection of its first season dancers. The prestigious Sejong Cultural Center will be hosting the ballet company’s debut performances in 2024.
The Seoul City Ballet aims to showcase contemporary ballet works that embody the spirit of the times and Korean culture. With a team of elite dancers and renowned choreographers from both domestic and international backgrounds, the company plans to present daring and diverse contemporary ballet pieces.
The ballet company will operate dancers in various roles, including season dancers, guest principal dancers, and project dancers. The season dancers, consisting of approximately ten elite performers, will participate in all performances leading up to the 2024 season and may continue their activities until the 2025 season based on evaluations. On the other hand, project dancers will be cast in specific individual productions, depending on the scale and nature of the work.
