Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Designates 51 New Pre-Social Enterprises to Enhance Cultural Services and Create Jobs for Vulnerable Groups

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has announced the designation of 51 new “Culture, Sports, and Tourism-type Pre-Social Enterprises” with the objective of strengthening cultural services and generating employment opportunities for vulnerable groups. These enterprises have been selected based on their commitment to enhancing social services, providing employment, contributing to local communities, and fostering creativity and innovation.

Classification of Designated Enterprises

The designated enterprises fall into four categories:

  • Social service providers: 18 enterprises
  • Job providers: 10 enterprises
  • Contributors to local communities: 10 enterprises
  • Creative and innovative enterprises: 13 enterprises

These enterprises have been chosen to address the needs of various sections of society and promote inclusive growth.

Support for Artists and Customized Healthcare

Among the designated enterprises, there are those that focus on supporting artists with developmental disabilities and visual impairments, providing them with opportunities to participate in exhibitions and sales, and enabling them to become independent creators. Additionally, some enterprises operate platforms that utilize digital technology to offer customized healthcare services, catering to the demands of an aging society.

Exploration Programs and Additional Support

Designated enterprises may organize and manage exploration programs targeting vulnerable groups, utilizing local tourism resources. Furthermore, these enterprises will receive additional support from specialized agencies in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism, including business model development education, customized advisory consulting, and recommendations for social enterprise certification by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

Realizing Social Objectives and Fostering Future Development

Since 2018, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has been designating “Culture, Sports, and Tourism-type Pre-Social Enterprises” to identify enterprises with the potential to develop into social enterprises in the future. By the end of last year, a total of 216 enterprises had been designated, with 33 successfully transitioning into social enterprises.

The Ministry expects the newly designated enterprises to enhance cultural services, contribute to the revitalization of local communities, and promote social service improvement and job creation. It remains committed to providing active support for innovative social services and expanding job opportunities in the culture, sports, and tourism sectors.
