The Geumsan Jinshan Forest Memorial Hall, located in Mugsan-ri, Jinshan-myeon, Geumsan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, has been officially designated as a national forest cultural asset. This designation comes as part of the Forest Service’s efforts to preserve ecological, landscape, and academic values related to forests.

The Geumsan Jinshan Forest Memorial Hall, a significant cultural asset in the region, has received national recognition as a designated national forest cultural asset. This recognition marks an important milestone for Geumsan-gun and highlights the dedication and contribution of Yoo Seong-jun, the first generation of the Yoo family, who played a crucial role in cultivating the forests of Geumsan during the Japanese colonial period.

The memorial hall, built in 1925 near the site of the Ichi-dae Battle, holds historical significance. It was constructed using the poetry of Choi Nam-seon and the calligraphy of Jeong Dae-yu. The Forest Service, which has been designating and managing national forest cultural assets since 2014, has recognized the cultural value of the Geumsan Jinshan Forest Memorial Hall.

With a total of 11 places designated as national forest cultural assets nationwide this year, the Geumsan Jinshan Forest Memorial Hall is one of the three designated places in Chungcheongnam-do. The local government has expressed its commitment to the systematic management and preservation of the memorial hall for the benefit of future generations.
