청와대 to Decorate the End of the Year with Spectacular Media Art Exhibition

Seoul, South Korea – The Blue House, also known as Cheong Wa Dae, will be hosting a media art exhibition titled ‘Cheong Wa Dae with the People’ to celebrate the end of the year. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 19th that the exhibition will take place from the 27th of this month until February 29th of next year. Combining advanced equipment and media art technology, Cheong Wa Dae has beautifully captured the history and spatial beauty of the Blue House.

Blue House PR Hall Transforms into a Massive Media Wall for the ‘Blue.Wa.Feng.Gyeong’ Project

The interior walls of the Blue House PR Hall will be transformed into a large-scale media wall from the 27th of this month until February 29th of next year for the ‘Blue.Wa.Feng.Gyeong’ project. Visitors will be able to enjoy vivid videos showcasing the scenic views and architectural wonders of the Blue House, captured by aerial drones.

Yeongbin-gwan Transforms into a Media Facade Exhibition Hall, Hosting the ‘Twelve Lights’ Exhibition

The Yeongbin-gwan building will be transformed into a media facade exhibition hall. From the 28th of this month until January 5th, the ‘Twelve Lights’ exhibition, based on the history of the Blue House, will portray the struggles, frustrations, efforts, and hopes of the people who have lived through the turbulent times of modern history. The exhibition will incorporate media art to present our current perspective on these past events. The music accompanying the exhibition is composed and performed by the Korean National University of Arts.

Plans to Incorporate Citizens’ Hopeful Messages and Utilize Cultural Programs at the Blue House

In conjunction with the media facade exhibition, the Blue House will also project citizens’ New Year’s wishes and messages on the exterior walls of Yeongbin-gwan. Among the messages submitted on the Blue House website until the 22nd, 150 will be selected and produced into videos. These hopeful messages will be showcased at the end of each session of the media facade exhibition, starting from the 28th of this month until January 5th, between 6-8 pm. Yoo Byung-chae, the head of the Blue House Management Utilization Promotion Team, stated, “Following the open-door policy of the Blue House last year, we have made efforts to create a Blue House where high-quality cultural content can be enjoyed. Next year, we plan to further expand the utilization of the Blue House through various cultural programs and by incorporating diverse opinions from the public.”
