Chimalosa’s Opera “Secret Marriage” Comes to Gyeryong City

The Gyeryong Cultural Arts Center in Gyeryong City, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, will host a special performance of the opera “Secret Marriage” by Chimalosa. The event, organized by the Gyeryong City government, will take place on the 22nd and 23rd of the month at the center’s main theater.

“Secret Marriage” is a delightful two-act opera set in 18th century Bologna, Italy. It tells the story of a couple who secretly marry and the humorous mishaps that surround their union. The opera also explores the love of Emperor Leopold II for the composer Chimalosa, who he held in higher regard than Mozart.

This production of “Secret Marriage” has received acclaim for its thrilling and sparkling overture, as well as its complex and enjoyable portrayal of the relationships between the characters. The performance will be presented by the National Opera Company, led by artistic director Choi Sang-ho.
