BNK Busan Bank Engages in Warm Volunteer Activities with the Local Community

BNK Busan Bank, a subsidiary of BNK Financial Group, has been carrying out monthly volunteer activities in the Busan area. On the 16th of last month, the bank visited 16 social welfare institutions located in the 16 districts of Busan to engage in volunteer work. They participated in activities such as facility cleaning and making boxed lunches, creating meaningful moments with the local community.

Bank President Bang Sung-bin expressed his hope that these efforts would contribute to making the local community warmer and brighter. Since the establishment of the “BNK Busan Bank Regional Volunteer Team” in June, the bank has been operating and designating the third Saturday of every month as “Regional Volunteer Day.” They have consistently carried out various volunteer activities in different districts of Busan.

BNK Busan Bank and BNK Gyeongnam Bank, both subsidiaries of BNK Financial Group, have announced that they will waive the early repayment fees for household loans until the end of the year. This measure aims to alleviate the burden of loan repayment for financial consumers. Borrowers who partially or fully repay their loans within three years of receiving the loan will be eligible for a full exemption of the early repayment fees.

Support for Small Business Owners in Ulsan by BNK Gyeongnam Bank

BNK Gyeongnam Bank has made a special contribution of 1 billion won to the Ulsan Credit Guarantee Foundation to support the liquidity and economic revitalization of small business owners. Bank President Ye Gyeong-tak visited the Ulsan City Hall and presented a certificate of special contribution, pledging a total support of 15 billion won to assist local small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners with high growth potential. The support limit is up to 100 million won, with a 100% guarantee ratio for amounts up to 60 million won and a 90% guarantee ratio for amounts exceeding 60 million won.

Established in 1968 with a capital of 300 million won, BNK Busan Bank has declared its goal to become a regional bank with total assets of 100 trillion won by its 56th anniversary in 2025. The bank aims to be a “strong and sound bank” and has made customer-centric digital finance one of its main business focuses. As a result of these efforts, BNK Busan Bank has obtained ISO20000 certification from the British Standards Institution (BSI) for IT service management and operations, making it the first local bank to achieve this international standard.

Enhanced Financial Services by BNK Busan Bank

BNK Busan Bank has renewed its external business system, “Nubi (NEW-B),” which allows customers to access financial consultation and banking services through tablet PCs. Nubi is a human-digital banking service that supports 1:1 professional consultation and banking services outside the bank branches. Customers can receive real-time support for portfolio design, household and corporate loan consultations, and financial product subscriptions. Even if customers do not complete product subscriptions or banking transactions during the consultation, they can continue the process based on the consultation content through branch visits or mobile banking in the future. BNK Busan Bank plans to provide highly personalized financial services at the level of individual branch operations by utilizing big data collected and analyzed from individual customers’ financial information.

Enhanced Convenience through Digital Place and Mobile Banking by BNK Busan Bank

BNK Busan Bank has opened a digital branch called “Digital Place” at Centum City Station on Busan Metro Line 2. Digital Place is equipped with a digital desk for customers to communicate with bank staff through video calls and smart teller machines (STMs). At the digital desk, customers can access services similar to those provided at regular bank branches, such as opening new accounts for deposits, savings, and housing subscriptions, loan consultations and applications, foreign exchange transactions, and new subscriptions for internet and mobile banking. BNK Busan Bank has also introduced a mobile banking service called “Chocomi” for children and teenagers aged 7 to 18, offering not only general mobile banking services but also functions such as allowance management, missions and rewards, and expense diaries to help young customers develop responsible financial habits.

BNK Busan Bank’s Efforts for Digital Finance

BNK Busan Bank has implemented a “Non-face-to-face ID Verification System” to prevent identity fraud and financial scams in non-face-to-face channels. This system allows verification of the issuance information of identification documents, such as resident registration cards, driver’s licenses, and passports, captured during non-face-to-face identification processes. It enables the confirmation of document authenticity by distinguishing high-resolution color copies and monitor captures from the original identification documents. The bank has developed this system using artificial intelligence technology through image learning and testing in various camera shooting environments.
