Yoon Go-eun’s novel ‘Night Travelers’ has been contracted for adaptation into a film. The publishing company, Minumsa, announced on the 15th that they have signed a film adaptation contract with production companies Bon Factory and Pipssy Season. Yoon, the author, will be involved in the adaptation process as the original creator and executive producer.
Bon Factory, a subsidiary of CJ ENM, has produced several hit works including the dramas ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim’, ‘Drunk City Women’ series, and ‘Mask Girl’. Pipssy Season, a global studio under CJ ENM, has created global OTT content such as the Emmy-nominated American TV series ‘Severance’ and ‘The Nine Perfect Strangers’ starring Nicole Kidman.
The novel, first published in 2013, revolves around the travel agency Jungle that specializes in disaster travels. It has been translated and published in 11 countries including the UK, US, France, Taiwan, Poland, and Turkey. In 2021, Yoon Go-eun became the first Asian author to win the Translated Crime Novel category at the Crime Writers’ Association Dagger Awards in the UK for this work.
