South Korea, Japan, and China Collaborate for a Better Future in the Content Industry

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea, the Japan Economic Industry Office, and the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism have adopted a joint declaration to expand cooperation and development in the content industry. This significant step was taken during the 16th South Korea-Japan-China Cultural Content Industry Forum held on the 7th and 8th of the month.

Forum Promoting Exchange and Collaboration

The South Korea-Japan-China Cultural Content Industry Forum, which has been held since 2002, serves as a platform for sharing the current status and policies of the cultural content industries of the three countries. Its primary objective is to facilitate exchange and collaboration between companies in the industry.

Utilizing Digital Technology for Mutual Growth

During the recent government-to-government meeting on the 7th, officials from South Korea, Japan, and China, including the Director of the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, discussed the “Utilization of Digital Technology in the Content Field” as a focal point. Representatives from each country’s government, public institutions, and associations presented on the topic of “The World of Content Business Explored through Digital Technology” and deliberated on cooperative measures.

Joint Declaration for Development and Prosperity

Building on the fruitful discussions, the three countries outlined their commitment to jointly developing and prospering the cultural content industry. The joint declaration also emphasizes the importance of expanding exchange and collaboration between content creators and companies.

Business Exchange and Presentation Event

As part of the forum, participants had the opportunity to visit the “Content Tokyo 2023” exhibition held at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center. Additionally, a business exchange meeting was organized to facilitate networking and presentations among private companies. Notable South Korean companies such as Super Tone, Amberin, and Naver Jet actively participated in this event, showcasing their contributions to the content industry.

Strengthening Cultural Content Exchange and Cooperation

Director of the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Yangsoo Yoon, highlighted the rapid growth of the digital content market and its ability to transcend time and space limitations, providing consumers with new forms of enjoyment. Director Yoon expressed hope that the forum would serve as a valuable foundation for enhancing cultural content exchange and cooperation among South Korea, Japan, and China, ultimately leading to mutual prosperity.
