South Korean Minister Recognizes Contributions of Advertising Professionals, Awards 16 in the Field

Reflecting on his own experience as a former advertising model, Minister Yu recalled the vibrant activity in the field during the mid-1980s to 1998. He explained that during his seven-year tenure as a tank model, he symbolized the tank ideology through his work.

Minister Yu stressed the need to elevate the creative spirit of advertising professionals, stating that without advertising, the world would be bleak. He emphasized that the hard work of advertising professionals should be acknowledged and respected. Additionally, he discussed the promotion of the Advertising Industry Promotion Act in a discussion with Representative Kim Seung-soo.

The government awards and commendations were presented to a total of 16 individuals, including one recipient of the Order of Industrial Service Merit, one recipient of the Order of Packaging Merit, three recipients of the Presidential Commendation, three recipients of the Prime Minister’s Commendation, and eight recipients of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Commendation. These individuals were recognized for their achievements and contributions to the advertising industry.
