A unique collaboration between art and small business owners is set to kick off with the ‘추천경로 16분’ project in Seoul, South Korea. Organized by the Korean Culture and Arts Council, this project aims to foster mutual growth and collaboration between artists and small businesses. From July 7th to July 30th, visitors can experience the diverse art and products showcased by four participating small businesses.
According to the Korean Culture and Arts Council, the project will feature the participation of four small businesses including bakeries and cafes. Each business will present art products and exhibitions that reflect their unique philosophies and styles. Renowned artists such as sculptor Son Goyo, media artist Kim Junseo, and painter Jang Seoyoung have collaborated with these businesses to create captivating art pieces.
The ‘추천경로 16분’ project takes inspiration from the fact that it takes approximately 16 minutes to walk from Topgol Park to Cheongchung Theater, covering a distance of 1.1km at the average walking speed of Korean seniors. To make the experience even more exciting, the project organizers have designed two unique routes for participants to explore.
Participants can visit Cafe Dwelling, where they can explore the complex relationship between the body and time through a thought-provoking media art exhibition. Cafe Dwelling has even developed a special menu featuring a clock-shaped rice ball, offering a unique and creative culinary experience.
In the eating route, participants will visit the “Future Bakery,” which showcases vegan art sculptures embodying a philosophy of healthy vegan culture. Cafe Sasa will also present cake-shaped art sculptures that reinterpret rest and tradition. These art cake sculptures will be available for purchase during the project, and their production will be decided based on visitor feedback.
The ‘추천경로 16분’ project not only serves as a platform for artistic collaboration but also provides educational opportunities for participants who have completed the “Cultural Arts Sponsorship Mediation Expert” program. Supported by SGI Seoul Guarantee, this project holds significant meaning in the cultural arts field.
The ‘추천경로 16분’ project welcomes everyone to participate without the need for prior reservations. Taking place in Seoul’s Jongno district, participants can immerse themselves in the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the area.
The Korean Culture and Arts Council aims to promote collaboration and empathy between small business owners and artists through this project. For more information and updates, visit the official website of the Korean Culture and Arts Council.
