Kim Ri-yoon and Ye So-yeon Win the 13th Moonji Literary Award!

Kim Ri-yoon and Ye So-yeon have been announced as the winners of the 13th Moonji Literary Award. Kim Ri-yoon, a poet, and Ye So-yeon, a novelist, have been honored with this prestigious award. Kim Ri-yoon’s poem “Gaze” and Ye So-yeon’s short story “Love and Flaw” have been selected as the winning works.

Recognition of Kim Ri-yoon’s Poem

The judging committee praised Kim Ri-yoon’s poem, stating that it resembled architecture. They highlighted the intricate structure and clean composition of the poem, without any unnecessary elements. The poem’s peculiar charm, which showcases the regression of architectural art restoring the Stone Age, was also noted.

Appreciation for Ye So-yeon’s Work

The judges evaluated Ye So-yeon’s work as the one that most accurately unraveled the roots and relationships of a character’s life. However, they emphasized that the flaws in the story cannot be resolved as they remain unknown.

The winners of the Moonji Literary Award will each receive a prize of 10 million won. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 13th, alongside the Rookie Writer Award ceremony by the Literary Society.
