High-ranking officials from the Vatican, such as Ivan Santos Montanari, the Undersecretary for Relations with States, and Fernando Heis Montanari, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature in South Korea, graced the occasion. Representatives from around 20 countries, including Italy, Brazil, and Indonesia, also attended the mass.

Expressing Gratitude and Seeking Ongoing Cooperation

Archbishop Jeong Soon-taek expressed gratitude for the Vatican’s important role during the Korean War and continuous support for the Korean Church. He also requested the Vatican’s ongoing cooperation for the preparation of the “World Youth Day” scheduled to be held in Seoul in 2027.
