A Florida lawyer, Brandon Ravner, who was charged with the murder of his father, was found dead in prison, suspected to have committed suicide. The 34-year-old Ravner had been incarcerated at Palm Beach County Jail since his arrest in July, accused of shooting his father, Paul Ravner, to death near his law office in Boca Raton.
Surveillance footage from various locations revealed Brandon Ravner’s involvement in the shooting incident. The footage captured him driving around the building before entering his father’s office with a drawstring bag. Later, he was seen retrieving a box containing a gun from the bag. A struggle ensued between Brandon Ravner and another individual before he fled the scene.
Paul Ravner had accused his son of stealing $450,000 from his mother’s trust fund. As a result, Brandon Ravner’s lawyer license was suspended by the Florida Bar Association. Additionally, Paul Ravner filed a civil lawsuit against his son, citing underperformance and theft during their partnership at a law firm.
A family discovered Paul Ravner’s body in a Boca Raton parking lot, with gunshot wounds to the head, chest, and legs. The police investigation revealed the presence of 9mm shell casings near the victim’s body, along with additional bullets in the vicinity. Based on this evidence, Brandon Ravner was arrested and charged with his father’s murder.
Brandon Ravner was found dead in his prison cell, appearing to have hanged himself. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the cause of death. His scheduled court appearance on November 28 for a status hearing was no longer necessary, as his death marked a tragic end to the theft allegations, legal issues, and his father’s fatal shooting.
